7 In A Row for the Under 14s

Worthing Town 1 Crawley Wasps 3

Wasps extended their winning start to 7 games and in the process extended their lead at the top of the Sussex Girls U14 League to 9 points with a commanding performance at mid table Worthing coming away with a 3-1 victory.

Alana Delaney opened the scoring for Wasps with a spectacular first time volley from Poppy Nicholls right wing cross to put Wasps one up. Nicholls then turned provider again, this time her surging run creating space for Amy Perry to fire home.

Wasps controlled much of the game with both Ellie Ratcliffe and player of the match Emily Tilford-Carey defending well and often the source of several Wasps passing moves.

Five minutes before half time Yasmin Church exchanged a neat one two with Perry on the edge of the box and although her shot was saved Perry was on hand to grab her second of the game and eleventh of the season.

Wasps well organised back three, organised by Captain Eleanor Keegan limited Worthing to half chances however a second half penalty saw Worthing pull a goal back that their continued battling richly deserved. However, Wasps ran out comfortable winners.
