Crawley Wasps LFC reserves/development/youth round-up: Under-16s through in cup

A debut goal from new signing Chloe Bosher helped Crawley Wasps Under-16s to a 4-1 win in their League Cup quarter-final against Rustington Raiders.

Skipper Chanelle Gainsford – who this Sunday continues her trial process for England Schools selection – opened the scoring, only for Rustington to level early in the second half.

But Wasps regrouped and soon regained the lead thanks to Emily Flegg latching on to Gainsford’s through ball.

Bosher made it 3-1 and Sian Maynard scored her first for the club to round off a good team performance. Macy Watts won the Thales player of the match award.

There was no such League Cup joy for Wasps’ Ladies Development squad, who lost 6-0 at Saltdean, despite a fine performance from 19-year-old goalkeeper Hope Laker.

Wasps’ reserves lost 3-1 to Eastbourne in the South East Counties Premier Division, Shaney Bolton scoring a second-half goal.
