Appointed first-team manager in the summer of 2015 and within three years led the club to the London & South East Premier Division title, after finishes of 8th and 3rd in his first two seasons.
Paul had previously been both assistant manager for the first team and reserve-team manager, and was involved with the youth section at Under-14, Under-15 and Under-16 levels.

An accomplished player in men’s semi-professional football, he played for Wokingham, Bognor, Horsham, Three Bridges and Steyning Town, helping the latter to the Sussex Senior Cup in 1989.

A senior partner at management consultants Wallace Walker Ltd, Paul became the club's chairman in 2017, stepping up from vice-chairman to replace Alan Dunt.
