ROUND-UP: Reserves beat Bexhill, Under-16s held

Crawley Wasps’ reserves beat Bexhill United’s first team 2-1 on Sunday for back-to-back victories in the South East Counties Premier Division.

Natalie Stephenson, whose double helped see off Chichester Development the previous weekend, scored again, this time direct from a corner.

Keisha Lawrence made it 2-0, turning her defender before striking home with her left foot.

Bexhill – who two seasons ago were playing in the same division as Wasps’ first team – pulled a goal back 10 minutes from time, but to no avail. Alex Tibble was Thales player of the match.

Poppy Nicholls scored twice for Wasps’ Under-16s as they came within a minute of beating league leaders Ringmer.

Nicholls’ left-footed drive and a finish following a slick passing move put the visitors 2-1 up at the break.

Emily Flegg scored the third but Ringmer snatched a late point in a 3-3 draw. Thales player of the match went to centre-back Chloe Upton.
