Crawley Wasps produced a clinical display of passing and finishing in this Sussex County U14 Challenge Cup Quarter Final. Hollingbury Hawks, riding high in the Sussex U13 League found their older opponents too strong but to the credit of their coaches and parents battled from the opening whistle to the last, playing some very good passing football of their own. It was Wasps however who made the breakthrough after 10 minutes when Poppy Nicholls found the bottom corner from the edge of the box following a goal mouth scramble. Further goals from Amy Perry, Chantelle Gainsford and two from Alana Delaney saw Wasps take a comfortable 5-0 half time lead. In the second half Wasps continued to press and both Delaney and Gainsford completed well-earned hatricks, Nicholls got her second, Yasmin Church scored twice including a header from a Nicholls corner and Elle Ratcliffe wrapped up the scoring at the death. Wasps go on to meet rivals Eastbourne in the semi-final in January.
